Rough idle, and wont start sometimes.
I have a 2001 C240 with 150,000 miles.
This problem started about a month ago when I was parked at an elevation, when i tried to turn the car on it would just click but not turn over. After waiting a bit it finally turned on with the check engine light on. The light only stays on for a day or two then it'll disappear after being turned back on. I took it to the closest Benz dealership and had an oil change, they also ran two tests on the car but they didn't say anything was wrong.
Now today i was in the middle of the car wash and it started to idle sporadically and rough. Going from id say 400-1000 rpms. It wouldn't let me give it any gas but kept running, so i shut it off. Tried to start it again and the problem reoccurred where it wouldn't start. I ended up pushing the car out of the car wash, waiting a couple minutes and it turned right back on.
Is this a common issue? Is there anything I can do to fix it?
