Voltage regulator
So I have an 02 c240. My battery/alternator light came on and i was 5 minutes away from dealership. went and had it checked out. he tested battery and said it was putting out 12.5 volts. said it would be ok as long as i didnt let it sit. but he told me the problem was the voltage regulator. i went no longer than an hour and drove it home but the radio went out then the gauges on the dash stayed where they were at, the windows slowed down then stopped working and then finally i lost power in the gas pedal until the car just stalled. (it is a 6speed). I was stuck on the side of the highway. I took the alternator out of the car and had it tested; they said it was fine. I checked the battery next; they said it was fine. the mechanic still says its the voltage regulator but the store said that it was connected to the alternator and that it showed a positive reading on it.

You have had 3 different opinions .
I suggest taking the car to a trusted auto electrician ,MB mechanic or the dealer & give them time to quietly & logically diagnose the problem & then repair it.

I went and got a third opinion on the battery and alternator. the alternator tested good again but the battery didnt. so for now it was just a battery fix. I just finished putting it back together so we will see what happens but i thank you for that!
