False. You are misled in thinking my posts are in a response from anger. A little logic and common decency is all I ask in a forum conversation.

However, making blanket statements about a car is honestly a bit absurd.

Yep, you're the master of common decency.

I really don't see any overwhelming positivity in the C&D review, honestly. There's a CLA/S class unveiling thingy at my local dealer. I, of course, will be going for the free chocolate and wine, since it's on my way home. Don't really have any interest in either car, except to see hopefully some of the more interesting colors in the CLA and its interior. Maybe that will translate to the new B, if and when that ever gets here; that seems to be the only Benz that is tommyworth at the moment.

You really can't read your own post right above mine? Logic seems to escape you as well, then. You're 0 for 2; you should be batting for the Yankees.

Apparently logic escapes me, yet you are the one who bought a w203 C Coupe... Right. Maybe your next car should be Walter White's Pontiac Aztec with your 'superior' logic.

Read my post again, as it seems that you have trouble understanding English.

Seems pretty plainly stated to me. BTW - it should be "are", and you're in the wrong forum.

Hey Tommy,

Best to walk away and not fuel LawRens. Others reading it will see our points. A forum should be one of decorum, civility and candor

You know, we were reeling it back in to a decent conversation, but apparently tommy does not wish it so, considering his abundance of satire and provocation. So I will take my leave from this thread; I guess you guys can have the last word and 'win,' since it means so much to you guys on this forum.

Cheers

Honestly, i think the cla was made a little "cheap"
The hood prop does not open automatically and its made out of plastic.
The cabin room is a little compact (sat in the back and my head was making contact)
The torque curve is nice, it has 258 compared to the 228 the c250 has.

The cla has its ups and downs, we recieved a lot of cla's and still are up to date but i have my fingers crossed for a more promising cla 45.

Satire and provocation? Tommy? No ! Never!
Though I will say, it's interesting that Mr. LawRens has written more in this one thread than in his previous 6 years combined.

So....FYI to all you guys.

I've been at 2 dealerships in the last couple days, and in both cases
the car was surrounded by Men trying to get a look and a drive, NOT chicks. Not one woman, and the one family that showed up was without the wife. And also not any young people either.

I'm not kidding. I was surprised when the sales guy jumped in the back seat and told me to fire it up and hit the road. There were like 3 other parties surrounding the car just trying to get a look and sit in it and put their grubby fingers all over it.
No women.

Seems his thinking is to keep it away from the other salesguys as much as possible so when a serious buyer comes in, he'll be the one to sell it.
No joke, he actually said that when I said I wasn't buying it today anyway, and another sales guy was trying to pry the keys from his hands.

The aggressive looks and price are sure to entice many men, and women too. That little 4 banger threw all 3 of us back in the seat. Stock!
It's a great feat of engineering and I'd be happy to own one. And yeah, my chick loved it too.
The things are flying out the door as fast as they can get them.
Hey, 38 mpg on the highway, and if it had less room than the C coupe on the inside, I didn't notice. It was super comfy and the steering wheel is awesome.
It has a HUGE trunk and the seats fold down. Back seats? Who cares.

The things are flying out the door as fast as they can get them.

As we were driving out of the dealership someone else chirped the wheels as they took off from a standstill.

Still I have to say I'm not real big on this whole 'bird of prey' look that so many of the new cars have, but sadly the poor c coupe is starting to look a bit dated.

blkbenz, yeah, I was put off by the hood prop too. Yuk.

Personally I think the CLA45 will be a disappointment, since most of the CLA's leavivng the dealership with just few options are weighing in a 40 grand.
Of course most of the options are crap I wouldn't want.
So, the CLA45 is likely to tip the scales at around 60K.

That being said, a CLA45 is likely to come close to the price of a C63 and a big part of the attraction of the CLA is the price point and list of standard options and MPG.

You can put lipstick on a pig and whadaya got? If you want a high performance vehicle, I wouldn't bother with a CLA in any form of dress....or lipstick.

Yah, 38mpg highway and 250 torque is pretty cool.

Wheel chirp? I can do that in my c230 anyday I bet the pavement in the dealership is just slippery...

So you just told him that you won't be buying it anyway, and he stopped wasting your time? That's nice.

Now that's just not nice.

Yeah, I think the "Wow, it's under $30k!" thing will bring a lot of people in to look around. It's certainly stressed in that excellent Willem Defoe commercial.

I'm wondering if that will be enough. I'd think that a lot of people would want that new grille that's part of the 2.5k package, the sunroof, and some of the other goodies, and the price of that may scare people away. Because you'd be then into 3/4 series territory, and I'm guessing that it will then be a win for BMW.

Still, more traffic coming into the dealerships will only translate to more business somehow.

I already priced that grill....about $450 on parts.com
Bix $850, Sunroof $1500 I think.
Who needs the rest of it.
Too many gadgets for too much money.
So about 33K. My sticker was 30,700 back in Jan. 2002

That automatic sure was expensive, wasn't it?

Lease market is going to be very popular on these cars , I'd imagine. So 2-3 years from now, should be a glut of certified used ones.

in Canada:
the base model is $33,900 and if you want climate control and heated seats add $2800!!
the Edition 1 is $43,200
the CLA 45 is $49,800

I think their pricing is out of whack I would rather have a C350 for $44,700 or even a C300 4 matic for $40K

and I think if I am paying $50K I would rather get a 335

Any time I hear "chick car" I know the person that made the statement has an ego defined by what they drive. 'Nuff said.

Then how would you explain the VW Beetle, Mazda Miata, VW Eos, Toyota Rav 4, Honda CRV, Volvo S40, Nissan Rogue? Just saying

I hope you're joking. The notion that a car defines one's gender isn't even worth debating. It appears you've been a victim of marketing. Don't worry, there's still time to recover.

Ha, well here in Cali, children are given the latitude to define their own gender as to which bathroom they use at school, and what gym locker room they use based on which sex they feel they most identify with.
Thanks Jerry Brown for that little gem of rediculousness.

Well, all in all, I'd have to say a VW beetle is a chick car. Other than that....
Everyone is free to drive the car that best defines their gender.
Especially in Cali.
I'm secure enough in my manhood to drive a C Coupe despite the chick car references.

Really?
At least one member here drives a ghey chick car, which ironically replaced his W203 AMG.
Flipside is I’m almost comfy in my own skin, and not even once has a fellow male motorist given me any **** about it to my face.
Some hot babes in my pricey ‘hood assume its pilot is a skilled driver who’s looking for good times and can still perform. They’re entirely correct.

Of course I drive an immaculate big *** manly man GMC workaday turd, too.

The interior had a yellow trim down the middle of the seats and mats... not too sure about that...

the rear end sort of looks like the last gen of the 5 series that melted in the sun and the front a bit like a Dodge Charger. I do like the 2 bulges on the hood and not sure why the C63 got rid of them. Not sure about the look of the car, might take some time to like, an acquired taste?. When the W204 came out I thought it looked out of proportion but after the first year I began to like the look and made our cars look tired. Now that there is a return to curves our w203 may not look as old again
