Hey guys. I'm brand new to this so bear with me. I drive an 04 C320 4matic. My steering wheel and airbag are both all cut up and what not. I'm wondering if it is possible to swap my wheel and bag for the newer style less ugly set. Maybe even just one from a kompressor? Are the airbags the same electrical and connector wise? Would the wheels be interchangeable? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a million

 

You mean from the 2005 facelift? I think structurally the wheel will fit, but electrically it won't. The newer C-class added a slew of upgraded and more reliable electronics, and I believe the harness for the steering wheel controls was changed as well.

 

I guess that makes sense. What about say an 04 kompressor? Same buttons and all. Is there any real difference?

 

2002-2004 W203 C-class steering wheels should all be interchangeable. I'm 99% sure. For a sportier look, get the 3 spoke instead of the 4-spoke.

 

Or an AMG or the F1 medic steering wheel, which is really gorgeous.

Or have your steering wheel redone; lots of places do that. I had my Brabus wheel redone by agla usa in FL. Also had a rim redone for my CRX by dallas custom wheel, both of which did fine jobs.

Also, Brabus and Renntech steering wheels pop up on ebay every so often.

I'd love to get an F1 medic or a renntech but I can see myself dropping 500+ on just the wheel then having to find a new bag on top or that. If anyone knows where to find a F1 medic wheel anywhere please post the link. I haven't been able to find one anywhere.
