Rumors...
There are rumors that MB may once again race 4dr C-Class sedans in the '04 DTM!! Ahhh, remember the good ol days with the 'W202 and 190Es (W201)??

It does make sense to use C-class seden to race DTM. You want to advertise the car you can sell the most and C-class is the one not CLK. Just look at BMW- 3series, Audi-A4, Ford-Focus (europe)/Taurus(us), Subaru-Impreza(wrx), Mitsu-Lancer(Evo8), Volvo-850 in early 90s, VW-Golf, etc., they all use there entry level seden to race. You don't want to waste your advertising money on a model that only sell few thousand cars a year rather than hundred of thousand a year. If you divide racing $ spend per car sold on C-class, it will be more justify then CLK.
