rear coil springs on 2005 c240 4matic.....
I went ahead and replaced both rear coil springs on my 2005 M.B. C240 4MATIC. I learned from you guys that a common problem with the coil springs is they rot and the tips break right off. Well, I did my research, purchased the new coils and installed them. The springy bouncy noise went away as my old springs were rotted and broken.
For some reason now the noise on the rear passenger side is making the springy noise again. I removed the wheel, inspected everything and was intact, no damage but when we hit a bump or a dip in the road that noise coil spring noise shows up. NOW THE POINT I WAS TRYING TO MAKE... There are 2 white dots painted on the new springs. Could it be I purchased the wrong springs? I dont remember the color dots on the old broken ones!! I can only guess that the coils are different as I'm assuming the dots mean something? Any suggestions? Thanks
