Right Side High and Low Beam failures.....Possible SAM failure??
Long story short, a few weeks ago, I got into my 2004 c230 6-speed sedan. It was raining that morning, and immediately upon turning the vehicle on, it said I had a right side headlight out. After driving about 10 minutes, I had a massive electrical failure (all kinds of warnings: display malfunction, coolant level, brake fluid level, SRS, wipers did not work, A/C quit working, Radio stopped working, etc etc)
So I babied her to work and got it there safely. That night after work, everything was fine, no more issues (the right headlight, both low and high beams) still didn't work.
Things to know Before any of these problems happened: I had just had my instrument cluster repaired (LCD display was burnt out), AND I had installed an aftermarket set of taillights (smoked version).
Also if I let the car sit for 3-4 days without driving, the battery will die. I have installed a several new batteries and voltage/alternator is charging fine!
Funny thing is, the headlight bulbs still works! When you first turn on the the car and headlights, the passenger side high and low beams will flash about 6 times with about 3 seconds lapse in between!! It is like the computer is not sending it voltage.
Would this be a front SAM failure???
Thanks guys!

first thing I notice is you said it was raining that morning. look for water getting into connections at the sam and even the headlight switch itself. water is the worst enemy inside electronics.

Sounds to me like since the cover is missing water got in fried something and then dried leaving no evidence. Get a new cover asap. Also why was the cover missing? good question to try and figure out the answer to.
