Is C230 50 state emission?

I'm thinking about buying a Mercedes C230 in Arizona. I live in California. Will that Arizona car meet all of California's strict laws on emissions?

thanks!

50+ views and NO reply???

C'mon. I'm sure that some of you KNOWS the answer. Can't you at least check your W203 emission label under the hood, and find out if it's legal in California? (it should say 50 state" or something in the label.

I don't see why it would be different per state... I may be wrong, but doesn't California have lower regulations than other states?

I certainly wouldn't trust anyone here with such an important legal question. Having said that, my guess is that the car would be fine, but you'd have to be much more careful about aftermarket and replacement parts so that it passes the more nannyish emission laws (replacement cats, for example).
I'd certainly have a conversation with the dmv to double check everything, though.

"Lower regulations"? No, California is the most strict of all 50 states in emission laws.

I asked the dealer to pop the hood, take a picture of emission label and e-mail it to me. He did that. I'm glad that this car will meet California's smog regulations.
