New Alternator for a C240 - 2004
Anyone has an idea how much will cost a new alternator for a C240 - 2004? I was not sure if it was the battery or the alternator, and the technician from AAA told me that the battery is fine this means that I need a new alternator.
Any comments or suggestions will help.

I got a Valeo off amazon for $220 brand new. If your car has bosch they can be found for cheaper. If you take it to a shop it will probably be $500 + it is such an easy DIY if you have the tools.

Just had my Bosch alternator repaired for bad bearings and am trying to get the damn thing reinatalled
thr lower mounting just slid right into the slot and was easy to hand turn the bolt to snug
for the life of me I cannot get the alternator top mount to slide into the slot so I can attach the upper Bolt It seems like it’s 1/16 of an inch too wide now - HELP how do I get this sucker back in? You can see in this pic the top mount is out and I can’t force it into the slot
Any tips tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!!!

This is for a 2004 c240 E26 4matic wagon - the alternator case was also repaired / repainted and perhaps that added a slight more thickness to the alternator upper mount which is preventing it from sliding into the slot???? Not sure if I should remove it and file it down a slight bit so it will fit?????? Any help would be greatly appreciated again.
