Anyone know how to change the ashtray light in a 2002 C230 SC with a manual trans?

I can't seem to find the light at all

DO NOT remove the chrome shifter surround. Skip to ~1:13. You do not need to completely remove that trim piece. Just kinda leave it dangling on the shifter.

Thanks VVF, that did the trick. I was able to get the old bulb out and order a new one from the dealership.

I'll let everyone know on Wednesday if that fixes the light in the ashtray.

You could probably get one from a local parts store though...

It's an odd sized little bulb, I checked Autozone's website before I called the dealership, they didn't seem to have it.

Well the bulb the dealership ordered turned out to be the wrong one, but I showed them the old one and they had one in stock.

So they didn't charge me for the new one.

Thanks to some help from VVF, and a new bulb I now have I light in my ashtray, no more guessing were to flip my ashes at night.
