hi there...
well, today was a very windy day in town, and while parked at home, a branch fell onto my car, and shattered the rear part of the panoramic sunroof.
I'm hoping to get this repaired as soon as possible, and was wondering if there is anything tricky about getting the rear sunroof glass panel replaced - is there anything the repair shop might mess up, anything I should check on after I get the car back? It seems like it ought to be pretty straightforward to me...
Also - is there a good way to get rid of all of the bits of glass from the seats? (I've got cloth seats...I don't want to end up finding glass surprises months later)
...sigh...

Orion230k, sorry to read about the glassmashing. ![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Was it a nearby city tree or one on your own property? Over here, X number of feet (i forget) of the property next to the road belongs to the city.
Did you check and make sure that none of the paint was scratched? If something fell and nailed the pano roof, maybe it (or something else) got another part of the car too.
Best of luck, though.

Yeah, I'm going through insurance. I just have a record of missing something whenever something is repaired, and then I have to go back again (e.g. my window got stuck due to a bad regulator, I got the car back and the window worked, but then I found out that the IR port on the handle had stopped working).

It was on my property, about 15ft from the road. I checked today and there's a slight scuff in the paint next to the glass, but that's about it.

New Glass in autos are not your fathers glass. Nonopening glass is considered a structrual member of the car, esp the windshield. They are set in a urathane adhesive material that will not work correctly unless the glass is cleaned and preped properly. This process includes cleaning the edges twice. Etching and priming the glass before installing. Etching and priming compounds are only good for about a week after opening the can. The black edges on the glass is to protect the urathane from UV, in direct sunlight it turns to powder. I learned this in a class I went to for Firefighters and emergency workers who cut folks out of cars for a living, the guy knew his stuff on all our systems. Pick your shop carefully not just who the insurance company wants. Good luck.
