It was just time to renew my insurance, so I looked around and went from $1900yr to $1266yr! I am 37 with no tickets etc.. State Farm came up the lowest! Do some checking it will save you lots of money.

Any excuse to raise rates. This one is laughable. I live in Dallas Texas, and have a better chance of getting bitten by a shark while mowing grass in my back yard than having debris from a terrorist attack smash my car.

I'm not disputing what you've been told, Timmy. But I predict there will be a huge consumer backlash in the making if what you say comes true.

MB-BOB, as far as homeowners insurance goes, I got a polite letter in the mail from my provider (Allstate) telling me that the HUGE raises in rates were due to all the mold claims, and that some companies are paying out more then they are taking in. I think in some areas, homeowner's insurance went up close to 100%. Gotta love the Lone Star State!

Thumbs up Manitoba Insurance

Our auto insurance is government owned and operated.

Age ain't nothin but a number!

Auto insurance is only based on what kind of car you drive, how many merits (or demerits) you have, what area you live in, what you use the car for, the amount of liability insurance, and the amount of deductible.

For me (using a C320 for example), with a $500 deductible, $200 000 third party liability, 5 merits (default), comes to $1200/year CAD, which is roughly $800/year USD.

Oh, Canada!

Tim
