27, paying ~1200/yr 50/100 liab limits, 500 comp, 1000 coll deductables. Living in nothern NYC suburbs. Was told that when I hit 30 or marry the collision rates will drop dramitcally assuming a clean driving record.

$1400 a year 100/300/100. $500 coll. $250 comp. Called around everywhere this was the best deal I could find. State Farm. I get an extra 10% off because my renters is through them.

Benzo -- $800 per year, I'm green with envy. Guess this once again proves is it's financially insane to live in the Bay Area.

I'm no insurance expert, but this DOES seem expensive to me. What is the discount at 25? $216 a month seems like a lot for insurance for one car. Of course, it's been awhile since I was 24, and I never had $50K plus car then either.

They just raised insurance rate at least 10% for major metropolitan areas because of 9/11

Boo2, what I would do is, keep your record clean and get a beater japanese car or use your mom's old car listed as "daily driver" and your C32 as "weekend driver"

C32 already has lower insurance rate than a M3. I paid $1150 for 3 cars and listed my 95 Civic EX as daily diver. It ended up my 02 C230K and 91 MR2 turbo as $300 each for 6 months. Cant believe cars with 11 years old have the same rate as my brand new C230K

Wish I could do that but i'm on my own. My parents live in California and I live alone in Chicago. My driving record has been clean for the past 5 years (no moving violations, accidents, etc.). I hardly drive my car (use the train and average 1.5 mi. per day back and forth from train station to my house) and the insurance company knows this. This is why I thought my full coverage insurance premium was low. I've been told that my insurance bracket is the most risky (single male under 25). Can't wait till next year. I chose the C32 because I knew the insurance would be less than the 2 door M3. :o

Guys, at least most of you are paying insurance for just yourselves. I've got 4 cars and 2 under 25 drivers. I pay megabucks for insurance for everyone.

My C230, which I drive, is my cheapest car; $369/6 month. MD/DC, outside the beltway (locals know what that means) full coverage (100,100,300), more than 7K mi/yr. Allstate with multiple policy discount, good driver, no accidents. I quess there is an advantage to growing older.

Question Insurance Rates in Canada

are a big RIP OFF! After seeing what you guys down south pay, I only wish I could move back down to the States. My brother who owns a Z3 roadster in KY dishes out one third of what I pay in Canada for my C230K coupe. He's only one year older than me! If anyone wants to see what your rates would be in Canada you can have a good laugh by inputting your data into "insurancehotline.com" http://www.insurancehotline.com
My current rate is around 1780$ CD /yr. This was the best rate I could find, even with a "six star" driving record and paying for insurance since 1981! LOL!

Question for Canadian coupe owners. What insurance rates are you guys paying for your coupes in Canada?

not to burst anyones bubble, but, I talked with the insurance commisioner for the southern US last week and because of 9/11 insurance rates are going to go up anywhere from 58%-86% in the next year

well, i had progressive... but all this talk about insurance made me check out allstate. at first, they gave me a story about considering Progressive a sub-standard co. and that it will inhibit me getting their Preferred Rate (whatever that is...) and that they'd need to do a credit check blah blah blah... i said, go ahead, do your checking and just give me a quote...

few hours later, she calls back very nicely and says, $658!!! what the... well, sign me up!

but their home insurance is still higher than our state farm policy (even w/ the discount for having both...)
