Fresh Installed New Camshaft Position Sensor

For a mercedes this was quite a cheap DIY job at around $200.00 in parts from my local Merc dealer.

Problem: LEAKY CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSORS
This causes oil to travel to the ECU via capillary action. Well. That is crap. So I fixed it.

How you can fix it.

1. Buy cam sensors and neccessary Sealing rings and plugs.
2. Clean up the mess around the sensors to avoid encrusted dirt entering the motor.
3. Remove plug and earth strap and clean both thoroughly.
4. Undo 3 E8 screws.
5. Remove sensor.
6. Remove gasket carefully.
7. Clean up gasket mating surface and any excess oil.
8. Install new gasket and sensor. (To correctly install the new rubber plug in the new sensor you will need some fresh oil as its a tight fit, and do it prior to fitting the sensor for obvious reasons.)
9. Reinstall plug and earth strap.
10. Repeat for other side.
11. Thoroughly Clean out your ECU harness connector at both harness and ECU side.

Hope this helps anyone with similar problem.
