03 C230 belt tensioner replacement

The belt tensioner assembly went out on my 2003 C230 and I was wondering if anyone has done this work themselves? If so, is there an easy way to do it or do I have to take out the supercharger to get to the bolts I can't see? Also, if anyone has a picture of the actually belt schematic do you mind sharing with me? I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks

I changed mine out when I took the SC out...some people say you can reach it with the AC compressor unbolted (not disconnected) and moved aside...either way, you are gonna unbolt something. The belt routing is in your owner manual, or just google it...it's all over.

Yea I thought so, thanks for the help! It seems like it will be a pretty quick job once you get the SC out of the way. How long did it take you?

Took my time and spent a day on it. Once the airbox is out of the way, the intake manifold is a bit tricky coz a couple of it's bolts are on the underside. I replaced the intake manifold gaskets but they can be reused (it's not one gasket, instead it's four individual rings, one for each intake port). The SC itself is quite easy, it's held by three bolts...two are accessible from the top and one from below (remove both belly pans). You also have to remove the intake baffle that connects the airbox to the SC inlet, also from below. There is a bracket on the trans that holds a refrigerant line, unbolt this and move it aside for better access when you are working under the car.
While you are at it, change out the SC oil...it's like filling the diff, up to the fill plug. I did mine with the SC out of the car, poured more than enough and just held it horizontal to drain....
If I wasn't taking lots of breaks it could have been done in ~3 hours...
Have fun!
