I HATE Winter.
Just 30 minutes ago - Night... snowing... beatiful outside... I'm waiting for green light at a stop light 0.5 miles from my house and Bam - I get pushed several feet forward. Freaking Ford Taurus with 16 y.o. and his Mom (passenger) hit my car - while Subaru hits their car. In other words Subaru hit Ford and Ford hit my 2003 C230 Sports Sedan.
Called insurance, cops etc.
The damage -
* exhaust is a little bit smashed
* rear bumber is deep-scratched in the middle
My question - what is the bumber made of? Some kind of plastic? What will it cost (for the Ford owner) to fix it? How much is aftermarket rear bumber - such as Brabus or...?
P.S. Everyone was OK... but I was kind of pissed... just 10.000 miles on it.

hey your LUCKY... i got hit about 2 weeks ago and i already have an aftermarket bumper.. i got out to see if the person behind me was ok.... then when i went back into my car to pull over to the side of the road THEY TOOK OFF!!!! so i ended up having to pay for everything!!!

The Subaru hit the Ford which then in turn hit you. -> The insurance of the Subaru will have to pay for it all. It caused the accident since both of you were stopped. I was in one like that once were I got hit and then was shoved into the car in front. The one that hit me had to pay for the whole mess.
On the brite side, if there is one, you don't seem to have any metal damage that is visible from the outside; i.e. crease in trunk, fender, etc. Much less for the bodyshop to mess up on. In case your bumper cover is cracked I would go for a new one instead of having them repair it.

I believe the bumper covers are make of polyurethane. Be sure to have the body shop check for damage to the impact absorbing and structural parts of the bumper.

A <- B <- C
Car A sues car B.
Car B sues car C for damages to car A and car B.
Basically you sue the person that hit you and its up to them to recover the money from the person that hit them...and so on.

i was stupid and did not get the license plate number... i told the cops cuz they were down the street 
and they said they cant really do anything without it....and of all cars it was a geo metro 
i have learned my lesson... forget asking if everyone is ok... im just going to take my camera out and take pics of their license plate.... this what happens when you are curtious and have good faith in people..you get screwed
