2003 C230

Intermittant starting issue

I have a 2003 C230, automatic. Just turned 100k miles recently. Had the car for a little over a year with minimal problems. Absolutely love it. Recently it has started developing an issue, when you turn the key it will do absolutely nothing. If you try the key a couple more times it will normally start just fine and continue not having any issues for a while. Sometimes a week. Sometimes a couple days. Then it will do it again. Always ends up starting but I don't want to give it a chance to someday not start. I have absolutely no idea where to begin looking to try to diagnose this issue. The battery and charging system tests fine. Anyone ever have this problem?

Search for EIS failure and see if those symptoms are like yours

When it does not start does the ignition lights come on or not, because if igniton lights come on then sounds like could be starter motor, If no ignition lights then sounds like EIS
