Question FSS recomendation.

My FSS is recommending service at 11,000 miles for the first one.

I just wondered what others are getting, higher or lower.

I know it depends on the way we drive our cars.

Mine is at 10,000. I had the oil changed at 2500, and asked them not to reset the FSS.

Almost the same... Somewhere around 16000 km. I have driven pretty careful, except for 2000 km german "Autobahn"-driving.

FSS recomendation was initially 9600 miles, but as I put miles on the car, it has changed dramatically. All my miles are freeway, at 150 miles per day, and wide open (no stop and go traffic) I am at 15K miles (since last October), and the computer says I have 1800 more miles until service A. It's been on 1800 miles now for about a week. And, for the record, I drive like a bat out of hell...... Gotta love synthetic oil........

10,000 miles

I noticed it counts down in 200 miles increments.

I've got 6100 miles on my '02 C240, and FSS is still targeting service "A" at 10K miles. Mine jumps in 100 mile increments, at about 50 miles into each hundred. I drive relatively short distances to work each day (7 miles each way), although the temp gauge shows normal operating temps by the time I shut it off. More highway driving on the weekends. I drive "moderately" most of the time (shifts around 3500-4000 rpm), with a few jaunts to about 5700 rpm.

Lightbulb How does a bat out of hell drive?

Driving like a bat out of hell means driving from San Diego to San Francisco in just 6 hours.

It was when my new c230k reached 3k for breaking in. I was down in SD visiting and drove back for the Thanksgiving weekend. Some traffic yet managed to get back in 6 hours stopped once for gas.

I did LA to SF in 4 hours late one night, then spent 2 1/2 hours looking for parking! Turns out, everyone is at home at 3 AM!
