CD skipping

CD skipping
If I play a cd it starts skipping after about 20 minutes. When I remove the cd it feels quite hot. Can someone offer advice on how to rectify this problem?

try getting a cd cleaner.. it is a cd with some fine brushes on it sometimes with a bottle of fluid. It cleans the laser lens. Cheap to try out. if this does not work then there is something more seriously wrong with the cd player and probably cannot be repaired.
Dumb question how clean is your car? dust dirt and smoke are not good for cd players.

I have heard that a cd cleaner might do more damage than good?
I will give it a try though, as I do not have much to lose
My car is kept clean. No dust, and no smoking
think I will rather install the AUX socket and use a MP3 player instead of cd's...
