First Car! 2001 C240
Hi, I have recently purchased a 2001 c240, 6-speed with 105k on it. It's my first car and I'm very happy with it, but it has a few problems. The car turns on promptly and without a problem. When I turn on the AC, it only blow outside air temperature even with air recirculation and after a few minutes it gives "undervoltage consumer defective problem" no other error is given or anything not even ec rest red light button. Also when I turn off the AC the error message goes away. At low air speed it has a winding pitch, when I turn it up it goes away. The rear back window clicks when pressing the button, but doesn't go down. Also the rear sunshade goes up but doesn't go down , but with a bit of wiggling it goes down.

The window and rear shade are common problems. Search and you will find all the information you need.
Not sure about your AC problem. Is the compressor turning? Is the system full of "freon"? . you could also have broken stepper Motors. Best if you could have a specialist shop take a look at the system. Good luck.

When I first got my c240 the rear shade worked when it wanted to. But now it's back to normal. You'd have to literally push it for it to go down.
If your red a/c light isn't on, get a recharge & it should work normally. As for the under voltage, how old is the battery? If it's never been changed, change it. I'd also replace the alternator or voltage regulator if that has also never been changed.
