Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth & Aux install
I installed the Kinivo BTC450 in my C230 and it sounds and works great.
I did not order the Aux cable from Mercedes, instead I bought a for $6.50, and used some 3-wire microphone cable to directly solder it to the wires found under the passenger carpet. I drilled a hole and mounted the jack right next to the cigarette lighter.![Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth & Aux install-merc_12_zps6bcc0997.jpg](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/c-class-w203/403569d1542334019t-kinivo-btc450-bluetooth-aux-install-merc_12_zps6bcc0997.jpg)
I ran the cable under the carpet.![Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth & Aux install-merc_22_zps8986be52.jpg](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/c-class-w203/403570d1542334019t-kinivo-btc450-bluetooth-aux-install-merc_22_zps8986be52.jpg)
I am pretty impressed at how well it sounds.
What I'm not happy with is:
1. The fact that I cannot close the ashtray door because the Kinivo plug is too long.
2. The lighter power only comes on when the key is in the ON position.
One of the cool features of this car is that I can turn the radio on when the car is off and the key isn't even in the ignition. It would be nice if when I did that, the Kinivo would turn on with it. What I want to do is add another lighter jack into the ashtray that doesn't block the door and gets power when the PWR button of the radio is pressed. Anyone know how I go about this? Specifically, what wires/connection to tap into for power.
