Looking for Chicago area hop-up shop

Well the itch is back. Probably has something to do with my buddy closing out his M5 lease and having that set of wheels available relatively cheap! But not for me

So I want to lower my car, get a muffler and generally screw around where MB sez I shouldn't. When I had my M3 I had Midwest Motorsport in Glenview. But I haven't been able to find something similar for the benz.

Please someone tell me a toy store exists. Steve never comes to Chicago , the dealer -- we won't go there and for the kind of money we spend on the toys - I don't trust my skills enough.

TTFN.

Knauz Mercedes is a Kleemann dealer, so they are not averse to modifying Mercedes cars.

Knauz can't get my mother's car fixed after four tries... something as stupid as fluid found in her garage on a regular basis... fix #1 It's condensation.. #2 Oh, that must be cosmolene melting off nothing to worry about, #3 no mam, no fluid there, going back again. I asked her to save the fluid if she could. She said slightly oily, colorless, odor less... sounds like brake fluid to me - nice huh?

So no, dealers need not apply. Also, I'm afraid that if a dealer does the work and it goes into the central computer records then the stimga of having aftermarket parts will be on file - not helpful in warranty situations.

thanks for the tip though. Anyone else?

there MUST be a shop somehwere in the area that does this.

Sorry - for those of you visiting with the CA shops like F1 and Evosport, please ask them for their recommendations in the Chicago area. Perhaps through their vendor connections?
