No, it don't think it costs an arm and 2 legs to order it from Brabus...the thing is they WON'T even let you have it unless you install a C V8 underneath it *duh*

I don't know how Brabus USA is but I'm sure that you can order it alone in Europe. Just send a mail to ask, it doesn't cost anything.

I have sent a mail to the french importer and you can get one if you want but the price is not defined yet . He told me that it would be expensive cause the shape is not the same than the normal hood, and it's a limited production.

I already emailed this information to Greg as well. There is no way around
the engine. So the hood is a no go. Unfortunately, we do not have any shift
knobs in stock, and if it is only the shift knob you need. I would recommend
you checking with a distributor to get the best price. We don't have much
mark up on those items, so I couldn't really get you a good deal on it.

Subject: Brabus C V8 Front Hood + Illuminated Shift Knob
Howdie Jesse,

My friend Greg, had asked me to contact you directly in regards to purchasing these two items for my 2003 C-class Sport Sedan:

1) Brabus C V8 Front hood w/vents *jpg attached*
2) Brabus Illuminated Shift knob *automatic*

From what I have gathered, through previous telephone conversations w/
Brabus, the only way I could get the hood is to purchase the C V8 engine.

Greg mentioned that you might be able to work around this and get the hood
for me minus the engine. If this is not possible, then my only alternative
would be to do a custom job, but I'd very much prefer to keep my vehicle all
Original Brabus. Many thanks!

Best,
Alwin Mulyono

BOOOOOOO.

that's basically what it looks like brabus did. honestly, that hood doesn't even look that great, it looks like someone just took a stock hood and cut slots in it. i don't think it would be that difficult for vis (or whoever does the cf hoods) to fab a hood like that... might as well make a better looking one.

hehe.. just picked up this old old thread.. I want one! I mean since I can't get it from Brabus I'll probably let a shop do it for me..

wonder how to make it look like the real deal and don't have rain enter the engine bay?

whats the big deal. take it to any metal fab place that can put vents in a hood, or louver it. no big deal, and wont cost that much.

well I doubt it'll just be some cutting vents.. I guess you need to do a little bit more.. but again, I'm currently trying to find out..
