hi guys
please can someone advise on how do I connect a high to low converter in a Mercedes c180 compressor. I have the basic unit which is a cd player, and now I want to put in an amp and 12" sub.

High to low converter? Are you talking about taking out the highs in the audio signal running to your amp? You will need an electronic crossover to accomplish that but most amps these days have those built in.

no I want to put in high to low converter so I can put in an amp and rca cables. this is because the radio unit does not have rca outputs and its a dash mounted unit which I cannot remove.
I was told by a sound shop to put in a converter, cos my friend with a c230 had 1 installed in his car at a sound shop but unfortunately the shop closed down and I bought the converter.
I took it to another sound shop but they are afraid to touch the wiring on a c180 kompressor

Sure you can remove the headunit

If you don't have a factory amp in the trunk, the speakers are connected directly to the head unit, so should be straightforward.

So you want to do HeadUnit -> RCA -> Amp -> speakers?
You will have to pull a lot of wires I guess. To the amp in the trunk then from the amp to each speaker in the doors.
The hi to lo converter's manual should tell you which wires you need to use.
This diagram is for a COMAND unit, but the pinouts should be the same with face-lift headunits: https://mbworld.org/forums/3943941-post42.html
This thread is also useful: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...p-install.html
