2005 MB C230 Sedan
My new (to me) C230/ first issue

My mom just bought a c250 so she gave me her 2005 c230 sedan as my early birthday present. Since I've had the car the only things I did to it was a debadge and I plastidipped the rear emblem. I've noticed an extreme vibration while low rpm idle and putting it into reverse. I did a little research and came to the conclusion that my engine mounts are shot. So I called up MB of Portland and they qouted me $950. Being a junior in high school with a minimum wage job that is a bit over my budget. Should I just leave it or find a way to get it fixed asap? Thanks

IF the vibration sounds like a chirping noise in reverse, the belt is slipping. You can test this by turning the A/C off and the sound would disappear. If it's not 'chirping' and turning A/C off does nothing, it most likely is motor mounts. There are 3. The side mounts you CANNOT do yourself. The transmission mount, underneath, is a fairly easy DIY, however vibrations will only be fixed driving at low speeds, not in idle or reverse. https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...2005-c230.html

Hi,

If you leave it the way it is you could create a bigger problem down the road. I am not sure how much they are charging you for labor/parts, but here is what we have the parts for:

AutohausAZ - Engine mount

AutohausAZ - Trans mount

Disclaimer: Make sure to check the year and model of the vehicle before placing the order.
