I just got back from having my resonator cut out and a straight pipe inserted. According to Renncpe this is the same setup as the C7 exhaust. It gave it a very slight throaty sound upon acceleration, but did not change the idle sound.

Only $40.00 so I am pleased. The straight pipe conversion from MB was over $100

I think I might get this done as well. Did a regular muffler shop do it? If so how hard did they say it was? Thanks

Details, details, details. Benzo speak up let us knoweth how this conversion was performed. I need details I'm dying to extract 300 ponies out of this baby. There is not one fool on the road that isn't willing to race me. Let me know what you are doing and if any hp gains can be documented.

A regular muffler shop that I trust did this. He only cut on each side of the resonator and welded in a piece of straight pipe.

I haven't had a chance to find out about horsepower yet. It was raining here today.

It took about 20 minutes total. He gave me back the resonator in a box in case I wanted to reinstall it at some point. Slight change in sound as I stated before but def nothing to worry about. Especially no cabin noise.

Was this the pre or post cat resonator? I seem to recall that non C7 has a resonator both before the cat and after.

Post cat. It's enough. The only time I don't like the sound coming out is that same first few minutes of tractors noises. The exhaust sounds like a tin can.
