M271 Engine misfiring help??
So I just recently came back from a road trip and decided to "push' it a bit. I got up to 160 kph but as soon as I took my foot off the accelerator the engine started misfiring. I pulled over, turned the engine off and back on, fixed the problem and the car drove great the rest of the way. However this morning I start the car and its misfiring badly, I thought it was odd and tried restarting the engine but no, it misfires now every time I start it. I had a b service about 6 months ago (all fluids, filters and plugs changed) and the CEL is on. Any suggestions before I have to call a tow truck and get a mechanic to check it? im scared if I drive it i'll damage something. thanks

Sorry you're having problems. You need to find out what CEL codes you have first. You can get your own reader lots of places (Amazon, car parts shops, etc.). You shouldn't have to pay more than US$50 (I don't know where you are so you may have to make the conversion), but you can pay over US$100. Quite often parts shops will read your codes for free.

Turns out cylinder 1 was flooded with water when I checked the plugs. It was raining heavily and I did drive through a few big puddles, but I have no idea how water got inside the coilpack??
Just cleared up the water, let it dry for a few hours and she works great again, If it starts misfiring again I'll take it to get the codes read. Cost AU$88 to read them!!

You had water in your cylinder AND coil pack? If you have water in your cylinder, you probably have a head gasket leak. I didn't know the coil pack would even hold water!
If it costs AU$88 to have your codes read, you really need to buy one for yourself. It will pay for it self the next time you get a CEL (assuming Aussie scanners are similarly priced to US scanners).
