Is there a DIY for CV boot replacement
Looks like I'm going to be changing out my CV boots on my 05 C320 4matic. Is there a DIY anywhere for the axle removal and boot replacement? I have a PDF of the boot replacement, just wondering if anyone has done a write on the axle removal process.
TIA,
Randy

in my experience (having owned many fwd cars in the past) it is better to put in a remanufactured shaft then replacing the boot. When the boot splits it usually throws most of the grease out and dirt and debris could enter leaving you a compromised CV.
The cost of complexity of taking the shaft out, separating the CV, cleaning, putting on the boot, repacking and reinstalling only to find it fails 6 months later is not worth the time or energy. It is much better in the long run to get a rebuilt shaft and install it
