Door lock acutator broken?
Gawd, well the trials and tribulations of owning a car with 218K miles...
So, I was replacing the door stop (for the 2nd time!) and in the process of
removing the door panel, I pulled the shaft that holds the door pin, and heard something go snap(!).
So now, the lock opens but doesn't lock.
This is going to be a real PIA, but thankfully I recently repaired the
IR door sensor, so at least I can close the door and then lock it with the windows open and then close the window.
The airbag is riveted to the door which is surprising since the door was supposedly completely replaced by a high end body shop that charged 2500 for the job when it was dented at some point. I would have thought they would have just used bolts or something.
Any suggestions?

all door airbags are riveted to the door, that is the way they came from the factory. So your high end body shop was keeping it to spec

Sounds like you messed up the rod for the door lock pin - now it won't lock via door pin.
BTW, there's a power lock button near your emergency flasher button.

I agree - this will be a PITA. Sounds like you messed up the part which extends the rod up. I'd take it to a professional, but it being you, I'd remove both door panels and reverse engineer it to see what's not right on the bad side and see if you can figure it out.
I've told myself that after I put on my new panels a week ago that it was the last time I was going to tasks them off. I hate em. Good luck.

The problem resolved itself when the door panel went back on
and I now remember why. The door close switch is pushed by the plastic trim piece by the latch.
I didn't break it after all, just
BTW- PN for those damn panel clips is A0069885778.
I just ordered a bunch from oediscountparts along with a speaker grill and
some washer fluid.
Was going to order a speaker at $75, but then I found one on ebay used.
Got the door stop cheap too, I think like $15 vs, 50 new.
