Stock wheels use a 37mm offset. The proper offset changes more with changes in width than changes in diameter.

IMO, unpainted carbon fiber bodywork screams "poseur". Unpainted carbon fiber can look good a trim, but not as a large panel.

Have you physically seen the carbon fiber hood yet?? What is your take on the grade/quality & fitment?? Which brand ?? I'm looking to get one for my E Class, my understanding VIS has OEM CF hoods.

Keep us posted
Richard

FI is much better quality than VIS. Go to any Honda site, and read about the fitment/quality/skeleton problems that people have had with their VIS hoods.

I've got a FI on order for my CRX - I like the look of it simply clearcoated. Of course, I'm a poseur, so take that into account.

Thanks for the 411 guys...however, they don't seem to list an application for MBZs, I'll give them a call.

As the resident shift knob expert, you are allowed to be a poseur.

I have the VIS hood on my car and the fitment is damn close to stock if you ask me. The quality is incredible. All the stock hinges and parts from the factory hood, fit into the cf hood as if they belonged there all along. And yes I have it carbon fiber. I wouldn't buy a cf hood to paint it. In my opinion, if you buy a carbon fiber hood to paint, you are in one of two situations. Your car is a racecar and cf doesn't interest you just the light weight of the hood; or you think your car is a racecar. So let's see how many people disagree.

Hey xc240x:

...Is that your C Class w/the CF hood pictured on the VIS website??? Andy @ VIS invited me to check-out the hood @ their showroom...since their local I hope to get some free time after the holidays.

Weight reduction is the only reason I would buy carbon fiber bodywork, and it would be painted. Large expanses of CF look unfinished.
