need a spring

2002, C230k coupe: The rear end creaks/groans with big moves like a dip in the road or pulling into our steep driveway. Found the bottom half turn of the left rear spring broken and lying loose in the control arm. Pulled it out, but the sound is still there, so I'm shopping for a spring. Right side spring has two red dots, so that's what I need.
Anyone have one?

ALWAYS replace springs as a pair. No ands ifs or buts

This is a common issue with these cars, eventually all the springs will shed a half or full turn

Now is the opportunity to replace it with something that will be much better such as Eibach or H&R, you can usually get a complete set (f & r) for under $300 The correct part number for your car from Eibach is 2564.140 according to my catalogue

I did a quick search on Amazon and there are 2 listing for that model #
Amazon.com: Eibach 2564.140 Pro-Kit Performance Spring Kit: Automotive Amazon.com: Eibach 2564.140 Pro-Kit Performance Spring Kit: Automotive

Amazon.com: Eibach PRO-KIT Performance Springs (Set of 4 Springs) 2564.140: Automotive Amazon.com: Eibach PRO-KIT Performance Springs (Set of 4 Springs) 2564.140: Automotive

.

For those that have a C230 sedan 2000-2007 I found a deal and a half for a set of these springs $135
Amazon.com: Eibach 2582.140 Pro-Kit Performance Spring Kit: Automotive Amazon.com: Eibach 2582.140 Pro-Kit Performance Spring Kit: Automotive

yup.. good way to go
Or you can get OEM from your dealer
If you are on a real budget get a spring from a used parts shop.

I hear you about getting a pair. Looks like the last guy just got one because the intact spring is fresh and shiny, much cleaner than the broken one.
