Another noob question. Today I jumped on a freeway entrance hard enough to hit what felt like a kickdown Switch at the bottom of pedal travel. But it's a manual transmission, so it's obviously not a kickdown, and I couldn't feel anything else happening.
Is there really a switch? What does it do? Can't find any info in the owners' manual.

On auto there is a kickdown switch there. Maybe they just didn't bother to delete it on manuals?
