Leaving jack on rear diff. while draining it?

Leaving jack on rear diff. while draining it?
So I'll be jacking up the rear by the rear diff and then placing jack stands on both sides of the rear. To be safe, I'm thinking of leaving the jack on the rear diff. Would I be able to drain/fill without any problems if I leave the jack there?

I dont know about that. You need room to work, with the jack in the way it will be tuff. If you got a 4matic then all 4 wheels have to be off the ground because I think you need to spin the wheels to drain the fluid out. Ive been thinking about doing the same thing to my c240. But its too cold to do that crap now.

Drain plug is on the passenger side. Fill plug is on the drivers side.
Loosen and remove fill plug, remove drain plug and let old fluid drain.
Put new o-ring on the drain plug and put back the drain plug.
Pour new fluid in to the diff until fluid starts to pour out. Put new o-ring on the fill plug and put back the fill plug. Tighten both plugs to correct torque. Wipe off the area with brake parts cleaner.
