c180 kompressor
![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
My car has been stood for some time, the check battery/alternator message shows up on dash. I had this on charge over night and today the battery drained whilst on the car. The dash started showing lots of faults EMS OR EBS or something similar then totally stopped working.
I went and purchased a new battery at cost of £87 although i was able to get home and all faults dissapeared except one. The red check battery/alternator message. (also slight missfire/engine running bit lumpy)
With this its leading me to believe the fault is the alternator,
*How can i check if the alternator works correctly?
*Is alternator replacement easy to do or complicated?
Any help would be much appreciated,
Thanks in advance..
Simon

Ok, so I was right about the charging system.
Call around, I would think mechanical shops should have the testing equipment to help you.
Presume you bought the right battery, 100Ah capacity?
