What are the symptoms of a failing rear S.A.M. or the symptoms of a S.A.M. that has failed?

IDk if my sam is blow or just needs reprogramming. My battery went dead after being at the shop for a while and well my tail lights don't work n my left signal. But when I brake they come on and everything else is okay only warning light on the dash is saying the left license plate bulb is out. So as far as what I've read is that if it is the sam that's out a bunch of stuff would not be working n I would have a bunch of malfunctions on the dash. So idk trying to trouble shoot it hajaha
