How to tell if check Coolant level is DOOM and GLOOM
About 4 months ago I did a coolant flush so I'm worried b/c the Check Coolant Level indicator went off and when I checked the coolant reservoir is like half empty so I'm paranoid that the coolant's leaking into the transmission or worse (head gasket?) b/c that's my freaking luck. I'm doing a transmission drain and refill (not dropping the pan- did that 3 thousand miles ago). Is there a way to know based on the transmission fluid that I drain if coolant is leaking into it? Obviously I'm gonna take off the under panels to see if there is a leak in the first place, but I'm already thinking ahead. Also, at the moment the car runs fine, normal operating temperatures too
thanks!!
thanks!!

I think ATF will have the specific color like the oil has when coolant is mixing into it.
Have you checked the engine block for coolant stains where the thermostat housing connects to it on the front, and above the exhaust where the plastic pipe goes into the block, on the right side (not the small pipe from the reservoir, but lower).
