It is a shame that the MB Motorola does not offer GSMD.

Ok, not to go too far off here, but I just returned from the UK. I took my Verizon (non-MB) Timeport phone which the sales rep told me would work in Europe when I purchased it. It was very important to me that I could roam in Europe and I was happy with my supposed "tri-mode" phone. Well guess what? That's right - it didn't work at all. It wasn't a problem with not having an account - it just didn't get any signal at all. I tried it off and on from Manchester to London and not a single signal block. Just so I know next time I buy a phone, does anyone know which of those acronyms would I need to get a phone to work in Europe? I called Verizon to find out why it didn't work but I doubt the rep could locate Britain on a map, much less tell me why my phone wouldn't work.

Yep. I ordered the hardwire kit from Escort for $25, I think. Same local audio shop wired it in for $25, though that one was really easy. I could have done it myself if it wasn't that I was already there getting the cell phone wired in. It's wired to the trunk fuse box, where the switchable fuses are, so that it powers down automatically when the car is turned off. It is up in the tinted part of the windshield, so it is not very visible from the exterior.

Does anyone have the v60c with the command?

I've been trying to figure this out:

If I am on a call and someone else calls me I hear the call waiting beep...I'm trying to figure out how to see the second incomming calls caller ID/name on the command screen!?

Thanks!

Jim

You don't see it becuase you can't... Design flaw ? Maybe. Hopefully one day a COMAND software update may fix this.

no way will a verizon phone work in europe... shame on both you and your sales rep for being so silly to think that.

an educated consumer/best customer.

Verizon does offer a rental program for a coupe bucks a day for euro travel, but if you travel often, then you should opt for a gsm provider (voice stream)

Thanks guys - my desire to be a more educated consumer drove me to ask an apparently stupid question. I'm a better man for it.

Cheers,

and to confuse things further.... hehe... not all gsm phones will work abroad, since european gsm is a different frequency then US gsm.

if you want the phone to work abroad it must be 900/1800/1900 MHs GSM.
