Need Aux/wiring help!

Hey, I'm kinda new to the community (have been utilizing it and getting great information about my recently purchased benz for about a week but just signed up today.) That being said, I'm new to a lot of the terminology involved and I apologize in advanced if my question isn't specific enough😄

Well anyways, I'm struggling with the aux input in my 2004 C320 4MATIC sedan (I live in Northeast US, if it matters) ... I read one post that says its in the glove box to the right, but there is just a small circle there... In one forum ( https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w203/81978-diy-setting-up-aux-input-ipod-mp3-player-etc.html ) I saw how to hardwire it using a cable harness, and I figured I can do that myself, but the problem is that it's my last resort... I don't find it convinient to have my phone sitting in my glove box the whole time... Now the real question is what SHOULD I do? What are my options (preferably most inexpensive?) are there specific aftermarket radios I should install? Is there a cassette attachment I can add to the CD mag in my glove box? Or if I remove the stock radio, will just any that fits in the molding of the car work just fine? Like I said, I'm super new to this, it's my first car and I just turned 18... Thanks everyone!

If all you have is the hole, that means the car is more than likely wired for it, you just need the wiring that goes from the harness plug (under the passenger side footwell, on the edge of the lower chassis) up to the hole you saw in the glove compartment. The wire is cheap, the labor is ~20 minutes to do. Once it has been run up to the glove compartment, you can just use a 3.5 male to male extension to run the plug to your desired location. With a little patience and creativity, you could have it come out of the center compartment, or somewhere in the center console. Cassette attachments are all generally garbage, and aftermarket radio would be a lot more expensive than the AUX input.

Is your car facelifted, or pre-facelift?

the aux is for facelifted cars only i.e. 2005 and beyond.

While our pre-facelifted cars has the cut out for the plug, the back of our stereo does not accomodate it. I remember reading somewhere else in the forum that a member converted his unit to accept it, something to do with the tape and disconnecting and re-soldering the connection

if you have a stock radio with cassette try the Ion bluetooth cassette adapter only around $25.00
