Desfrost & Defog Duct/Vent not blowing air in W203 - 2002 C230 Kompressor
Anyway, we will skip the other issues or the fact I did not notice it right away (I had to add coolant). Anyway, all the vents and ducts work accept the defog/defroster. Funny enough, I can hear the air switching to the proper duct and vents, but it does not want to come out for some reason. I am guessing a secondary flap or something like a disconnected hose/tube?
Anyway, I have yet to try the sync, but I did have to change the battery and alternator. So I was wondering if that could be a potential problem and it indeed does need to be synced/ calibrated? In any case I will check that out today at some point.
In any case I was just wondering what are the scenarios and what is most likely to be the problem? From there I may need a small hand in the basis of the procedure depending on the problem/ scenario.
Also, I could not find any posts on this for the W203s. So hopefully this post will help any other individual who lacks the knowledge to fix this issue such as myself.
Thanks,
RJ
start here. I had this problem and had to remove the lower portion of the dash and replace the broken linkage arms and one stepper motor for the upper defrosting flap. In addition to the linkages (for the footwells) being broken, the internal clutch in the motor for the defrost was too weak to turn the drive.
You learn things as you go I guess.
