Pre-Cat O2 Sensor
My 2004 Mercedes Benz 180K was doing fine until starter motor stopped working. I was at local supermarket at time and kicked started the car and drove it home.
Auto-electrician fixed the starter with new parts. The car started but there was a idling problem. The idling going up and down.
After many hours searching for an answer on the internet,I'v come to the conclusion the O2 sensor has trouble relating info to ecu. (I am no mechanic).
However a few questions relating to idling:
1) Can kickstart have caused this idling problem.
2) Does the O2 sensor harness pass the starter motor where the auto-electrician worked when he removed the starter and somehow by accident disturbed the O2 sensor's connection or something.
3) What is the length of this particular car's O2 sensor harness and does it connect to the ecu.
4) I have tried to trace the harness,it seems to go over the gear box.
5) Can heavy revving cause to throw out idling.
The reason for all these questions is that the car was performing 100% prior to starter change.
I appreciate your advice
Thank you
Gasant
