Command retrofit help needed
First, huge thanks to everyone that has posted all the information about retrofitting Command 2.0. I recently purchased a 2003 C320 for my daughter. It had a very poorly installed aftermarket head unit. A hack job to say the least. I bought a Command 2.0 unit, Bose Amp and VCM on eBay. I bought a PSE and new wire harness from SilverStar in NY. I bought a Bluetooth puck locally. After an epic all day battle I managed to get everything rewired and it sounds wonderful. CD is working again, AUX works great, radio is perfect and the sound is great. The only problem is Command says "TEL error, phone not plugged in".
The blue light on the Bluetooth puck does not come on. I've checked the connection at the RJ-45 plug and it looks fine. The red light for the Tele-aid buttons comes on so I think that the harness has power. I've connected SDS and configured the D2B loop and everything is there and there are no errors.
My question is pretty simple... if you plug the Bluetooth puck into a properly wired RJ-45 should the light come on? In other words, while there might be many other things potentially wrong with the system, it seems like the light should at least come on. I bought the puck locally and the owner said it worked when removed from their MB. I'm trying to decided if I need to buy another puck.
Any thoughts? Any thing else that could keep the light from coming on? Maybe I got the wrong harness for the puck?

I had a similar problem when retrofitting the Bluetooth puck in a 2002 ML320. The issue was the PSE. I had originally got the older PSE that was only compatible with the Startac phones. You need the newer one with the blue label, Q6820754. Do you have a schematic to check to see if power is getting to the puck?

Many thanks for the reply. I bought Universal PSE Q6820971 which doesn't look the same as what you have listed. What you've listed looks like an Autosense PSE. I thought that the Universal PSE replaced all the others but now I'm not so sure.

You are probably ok. I was going off memory from my situation. I do remember there being two part numbers compatible with the puck and one being easier to find. There is a pretty good thread on this in the audio section if you haven't been there yet. If you need a schematic for the phone system I can did that up later today.

A schematic would be very helpful. Verifying power and ground would be a great start. Since SDS can identify the PSE on the loop I think it is probably working (and it is new). I think it is a wiring issue between the two.

This should help. I noticed that the Timeport/Startac phones have a different pinout than the v60 phones so its possible you have the correct PSE but maybe came across the incorrect interconnect harness. This schematic also has the correct p/n's so hope this helps you verify everything.

Many thanks! I'll check a few pins and make sure the signals are getting up there and then make sure they match up. I'm really starting to think that my puck is bad.
