Air Recirc button

Does anyone know if it is possible, using the Star Diagnostics, to configure the Air Recirc button so it does NOT de-activate after 5 or 20 minutes (depending on outside air temp)? I have relatives who are VERY affected by truck exhaust, etc., and it's a pain to have to remember to push the button every five minutes when they are in the car.

I'm willing to hunt down a dealer who will agree to re-program this button if it's possible, but I'm certain that if I ask MY dealer about it he will say that it's working correctly and can't be changed. It would be good to know it's even possible before searching for an accomodating dealer.

Thanks in advance.

That cannot be changed, but if it is shutting off every five minutes, it is shutting off too soon.

mine stays on for around 15 minutes. If the sensor detects excess smog, it goes into auto recirc mode. I have not had this happen to me before though.

While your car has auto recirc, the 230's do not.

The reason it would switch off after only five minutes (according to the manual) is because the air temp was below 40 degF.

Guess I'll just keep pushing the button. :-(

Thanks,
