Lower conrtol arm replacement question ?
Okay guys,
I have just installed the lower control arms either side along with the suspension tie bars.
One question though, on the lower control arms the large round rubber mounting has an elongated hole and depending on where the arm is positioned when tightening the bolt, will it not effect the steering geometry?

yes however you need to buy special bolts to fit the adjustment positions.

However I dont need to adjust the camber as the car is standard stock, so if I have just replaced the arms for new ones as they had worn and I am using the factory bolt, would I need to still get the alignment done?

As long as alignment has not changed from stock and you are just straight up replacing the arms then the original bolts going back in the center of the slot will give you the same alignment as you had before assuming it was good. Hardly anyone gets the camber bolts unless they have alignment damage or lowering etc.

The last remark is wrong....yes you do need to still get an alignment.
Anytime you change any front end components the alignment gets changed and needs to be redone. Even using the stock bolt there is play in the hole and the different parts can also have different measurements even though it may only be slight. You also need to replace at least the nut that goes on the bolt as it is elongated and is not supposed to be reused but recommend replacing both the nut and bolt. If I recall and you just replace the nut you are supposed to rethread the bolt.
