Weak Air Conditioner
I find my air conditioner of my 2003 C 230 coupe` does not get very cold. I have also driven the 4 door C Class and the air conditioner does not seem any better. Are Mercedes air conditioners not as powerful as they used to be in older model cars? Is there a way to get it to go colder as the temperature seems to be computer controlled?
Besides the airconditioner Im quite impressed with this car
PS I live in a warm climate,
your comments would be most appreciated

Dear Bruce (down under)
You have a good point there, I live in Cape Town its dry and hot here, and the aircon is not a good as those in the older mercs.

do you have the standard or the optional temp-tronic set ups?
Try this, run the AC with the center dashtop vent closed (if applicable) and turn off the auto mode until the interior temp is comfortable. Once the int. temp is good, then set it back to auto and you should be comfortable. Run it in REC mode(recirculate) for the highest volume of air flow. You won't blow frost out of the vents, but this should do the trick....
Also, EC mode is really only meant to be used on long highway cruises....turns off the compressor (EConomy mode) to improve gas mileage.
Our E-class works the same way, but has the digital controls that monitor the temp through multiple sensors (the C only has the one sensor on the console controls)
