Another EIS / Smartkey thread
Yes I know there are hundreds of threads about this but I do believe that my problem is somewhat unique. If not please accept my humble apologies in advance

Car is a 2001 C200 Kompressor.
About 5 years ago I started having problems with remote locking / unlocking of the car and took it to the dealer who advised me that the key(s) needed to be replaced which was duly done. The new key worked fine for a while but recently it began giving all kinds of problems:
Now I had one key that starts the car but would only unlock the car when it felt like it (old one) and one key that would unlock the car but would not start under any circumstances (new one). This arrangement worked fine until today when once again SWAMBO got stuck in the middle of the road
Luckily she got it going again but obviously we can't rely on the car any more.
I would greatly appreciate any thoughts and advice on this before I take it to a dealer as the car has done over 400 000 km's and is probably not worth the cost of a new EIS / ESL / ECU etc.

- Sometimes the key would not turn, after removing and reinserting a few times it worked.
- Other times the key would turn, starting the car, but all other electronics was dead. This was usually resolved by turning the car off, removing the key, and restarting. At first this only happened after a start but more recently while driving as well.
- About six months ago, while driving, everything went dead like before but this time the engine stopped as well, leaving my wife stranded in the middle of a very busy intersection. No amount of playing with the key would persuade the car to start again. In a panic I rushed home and fetched one of the old keys and that worked!

hmm i olso got a problem like that sometime while im driving many of failures appears on the screen like ABS,front and back lights, LIM, and many others, and then the speedometer go dead 
can anyone help solve the problem ?
