Drivers door warning fault
Just had a warning come up on the dash telling me that the driver's door is open, I have checked the door switch and it seems OK, yet when I go to lock the car with the fob the driver's door will not lock and I have to use the key to lock it manually.
The switch on the door slam seems to work OK and turns the interior light on and off as normal, is there some other switch inside the door that senses when the door is closed?
All the other doors lock as normal, just the driver's door.

I found out the problem, the plastic cover that bolts on to the lock with 1 torx screw has fallen off and hence it was not depressing the switch, this fooled me into thinking that the switch was faulty although when I depressed the switch with my finger it turned the interior light off and on again making me think that there was a fault in the lock somewhere, but when I closed the door the switch was not being depressed, but I couldn't see it, I just need to find the cover which is probably in the road where I parked it and the fault first appeared.

Ordered a new part from Mercedes Exeter, part arrived within a few days, they wouldn't let me pay for it when I ordered it. I called them today and they told me that as they can't process any transactions for less than £5 the part was free!!!!!

Wow that's awesome its nice when you get good customer service as at least here in the USA it is very rare sadly. I can say the only big company besides amazon that I love is Tiffany and sadly they don't have car parts lol
