New MB C230 Sport owner, will be lurking here a while!

I recently came into possession of a 2004 MB C230 sport that had been totaled due to a deer hit. Most of the damage was high - hood, rad and support, ac condenser, driver hl etc. Had to source most of the plastics under the hood as well, i.e. airbox, pulleys, silencer, intake hose. I lucked out in that the tensioner pulley mechanism was intact and functional, just the pulley and washers hosed. Let me say, the airbox removal was a PITA and I never would have been able to do it without this forum. Thanks. I had a major mistake when test starting after new rad in, as I didn't seat the tranny cooler lines properly . Those spring retainers are a MAJOR PITA. So now I know I am somewhat low on trans fluid, just have no way of CHECKING it, ty MB. I am old school when it comes to maintaining my vehicles, I do it myself! Even new cars, as my wife and I put in excess of 100k miles a year combined on our vehicles. So, how do I check the trans fluid without a dipstick? I've seen the kits on the bay with 4 sticks, is this something I should invest in? If so, which one is used for the trans? Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks!

THE C350
You need a 722.6 dipstick just look on ebay or somewhere like that you can find them for around $10 shipped remember that it is temperature sensitive so do your research on that. Also since you just got it you might want to do a flush anyway take a look at this pdf a member made http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...92189499,d.eXY
It is very good good I recommend shell 134ATF as it is MB approved for the 5 speed 722.6 and the 722.9 and can be had at a local shell supplier for under $60 a case (12 quarts)
I would also depending on mileage do other services such as rear dif and so on.
