Should I get a new head unit or just add cable?
Hi, this is my first post in the forum. I recently bought a 2005 C230 Kompressor. It's a great car but the problem is that it only has old school cd player, lacking the audio jacks I need. My current plan, also the cheapest, is to buy the A2104405005 cable harness and DIY it myself. It allows me to plug my cellphone into the car. But here in Canada it isn't cheap, the dealer quoted me 79.50, which is ridiculous just for a cable.
The other thing I've thought of doing is getting a head unit from newer Mercedes vehicles, especially those with touch screen and bluetooth. Are those plug and play? Are they easy to install?

The plug and play ones are called COMAND MCS 2 from 2005-2007 w203s.
They are not touch screen and don't have bluetooth, but they have navigation(you'll need to source nav dvds somewhere).
You can also install an aftermarket headunit (plug and play if you don't have Harman Kardon audio currently). See sticky thread on diy modifications.
The cable can be found for $45-50 online, search by part number.

I got a 05 Kompressor as well and im curious to what your cd play looks like. My stereo has the CD, 6 disc changer, radio, and telephone combo. Is that the one you have? I got the cable harness and its great. I just didn't want to mess up the flow of the interior with a cheap aftermarket headunit. Unless its a touchscreen or high end unit, I would just stick with the harness.
