Would anybody be willing to listen to this audio & chime in..

2003.5 W203 C320 4Matic. 120000k

http://youtu.be/jt3ZmbjTp7w

Chime in as to what is/ could be the cause of this increasingly annoying cluck/ knock from the rear side of my engine, more to the driver.
This noise is constant throughout all gears accept Neutral. Then it will quiet down a bit, but still noticeable when placed close to a wall, window down.
The noise has been there since I purchased the car used a little under 13 months ago with 15k miles less.
The car mechanically is very sound & drives like a dream. But lurking in the back of my mind is the thought of a bad lifter giving way to problems & some other yay votes would ease tensions of taking on a big task such as this.
Also the maintenance listed below is to help narrow any possible culprits and a result of my love for the vehicle.

New parts being:
•Plugs & Wires
•Valve cover gaskets & re-sealed breather covers
•New breather hose all around & TB/ Maf seals
•Chain & belt tensioners
Idler pulley
•Transmission flushed, then replaced filter & gasket after thorough cleaning of the pan
•Changed front & rear gear oil
•Front & rear drive axles
•Front & rear Flex discs along with the centre driveshaft bearing
I use pentosin oil & Mann filters all around

Any & all help would be deeply appreciated.

I have a very similar sound from my engine. I removed the serpentine belt and ran the engine for a minute - made the same sound (so not a belt driven accessory). One indy shop thought is was a lifter on the passenger side of the engine. I replaced all the lifters on that side DIY - no change. My harmonic balancer (main cracnkshaft pulley on the front of the engine) has a slight wobble - I don't think it is enough to hit anything and cause the sound, but I bought a new one anyway. I have not installed it yet.

If you figure out what your tick is, please let me know! I will do the same.

I appreciate the information! I will most definitely let you know what I find & the process that got me there.
I've also considered the possibility of a cracked flex plate within the transmission, but that's only a guess from what little transmission knowledge I have.
