Key Troubles
Hi all!
I own a 2001 C180 that I have been having key troubles with lately. These issues seem to have arisen since having the car at the dealership to have the codes checked.
So the key will work but often only after sitting in the ignition for an extended period of time. On a few occasions I have gone to the garage to drive the car, the key hasn't worked, left the key in and come back half an hour later to the ignition unlocked and functioning again.
Is there anything I can check? Are there any resets or reconfigure steps I can follow?

Well if you have a second key and they both do it time to take it in as it probably needs a new EIS. Runs about $1,000 from my understanding but down under that might be worse. Really what you need is someone with a MB diagnostic computer (star) and knows how to use it to do a proper diagnostic.
